Why Start an Internet Business?

Why should you start an Internet business? There has never in the history of mankind been a better time or opportunity for the average person to start a home-business, than right now.

Why?

Here are ten great reasons:

  1. Very low start-up costs.
  2. You can reach people all over the world.
  3. The Internet creates a “level playing field” for all businesses, big or small.
  4. There are many ways of getting free advertising and free exposure.
  5. There are over one hundred ways (and growing) of advertising or marketing poducts and services on the Net.
  6. An Internet business can realistically be managed completely by one person, (no employees).
  7. No employees, means low-overhead.
  8. A home business increases your tax deductions (I’m no attorney, but you can write off part of your house and maybe your car as  business expenses, also trips, business meals, etc.)
  9. You can easily distribute digital information-products (e-books, audios, videos, software, etc) which reqiure no stocking, no inventory, no storage, (except on your hard drive) no packing, no postage, no shipping, etc. and,
  10. If set up properly, using automation software, you can make money 24/7/356, in your PJ’s, even when you’re on vacation, heck even in your sleep! (My personal favorite! :-) )
  11. You also can make GOBS of money! (Ok, another personal favorite!)
  12. You are your own boss, take as long a lunch as you desire, vacation when you want to, be late if you want to, don’t worry about calling in sick…oh, sorry, did I say only ten things! :-)

And if that’s not enough, with the advent of “Resale-Rights” products, you can even earn while you learn! Click the link above for more information.

“But, the Internet is Probably “Full”

I’ve actually heard people say this. Believe it or not, there’s still plenty of room for growth on the Net. Don’t for a minute think that the Internet is surely ”saturated,” by now. Even though it has billions of pages…it’s actually still in it’s ”toddler” stages!

Economist, Professor and New York Times #1 best-selling author, Paul Zane Pilser, predicts in his blockbuster new book, The Next Millionaires,” that the next decade is going to produce 10 million new millionaires!

That’s a million new millionaires a year! Are you going to be one of them? Do you have any idea of what industries he predicts they are going to make their millions in? Check this out:

  • Home-based businesses
  • Technology
  • Direct selling
  • Product Distribution
  • Any of the emerging trillion-dollar industries such as The Wellness industry.
  • I happen to think he’s correct on all cases. Unless you’ve been living under a rock lately, you probably agree with him too. It goes without saying, technology and the Internet are taking the world by storm.

Why not learn how to use both to your advantage?

    Stop Spamming Me

Are you as sick and tired of: spammers, hackers, crooks, spyware, malware, black hat, computer viruses, trojans worms, bad information, and just down right lies on the Internet as I am?

The most hilarious thing about it all is this:

There are sooo many “legitimate” ways of marketing and making money on the Internet, that if these crooks would spend just half of their energy and time thinking of  positive, creative ways to make money, instead of  unethical, evil, negative ways…they’d be ten times as wealthy!

(And, they would have ”ten timesthe peace of mind!)

I don’t remember who said it, but there is a quote that goes: “Wise is he, who has peace of mind.” I guess the “flip side” of that would be, “Dumb is he who doesn’t?

Hello? At last count there were over 100 ways to market legitimately, online. Marketers that “know the ropes,” that are using the right techniques and doing things in a certain way, are making a KILLING online!

Why can’t you do it too?

And guess what? They are laughing all the way to the bank…instead of  looking over their shoulders!  Besides that, there is a Universal Law that states: “You Reap What you Sow,” it’s called “The Law of Cause and Effect.”

In other words: “What goes around, comes around!”

What crooks fail to realize and understand is this: Any moneys that are gained quickly and unethically…will leave your pockets just as quickly and unethically!

    Here’s another Kicker:

To all you “bootleggers” out there…(You know, people that rip-off other peoples labels, copywrites, and try to resell fake, remade stuff under another persons label.)

Did you know that you can bootleg legally! (I wouldn’t lie to you…I’m trying to put a stop to all of that remember?) :-)

It’s called RESALE RIGHTS…DUH! Yes, if you do a little research into the phenomenon of resale rights you’ll realize that you basically have the right to resell products legally, without having to constantly look over your back!

It’s just another amazing marketing technique that was spawned and made popular by the Internet. And some marketers are making fortunes with just that one technique alone!

So, to all you spammers, hackers and such…stop with the negative…heck , you can still bootleg if  you feel you have to, just do it legally!

    Copywriting Tips

This article should and could very well be the first page of this blog.

Copywriting, salescopy, adcopy, call it what you want, learning “salesmanship in print” is the single most important skill you can learn in your online quest for financial freedom.

It is also crucial for building your all important, “customer list”

The point is undeniable, good copywriters can basically write their own paychecks!

Did you totally comprehend that last statement? Sit back for a few seconds and really absorb that statement…

Do you realize that there are people that play the the lottery everyday, wishing that they could  hit, just one good time, so they can live on easy street?

Then there are those that can demand and receive payoffs just like hitting the lottery… every month, or whenever they want to? I guess the old saying is true: “The pen is mightier than the sword!”

The going rate to hire a top-notch, world-class adwriter to write a simple, one to five page salesletter for example, can be upwards of $10 – 15,000.00 or more, depending of course on their noteriety, guarantees, click through and response rates and other factors.

That may seem like an astronomical amount of money, but when you consider the fact that some marketers make millions of dollars from these sales letters, then that number isn’t quite as ridiculous now, is it?

(Needless to say, it was numbers like those that pushed me into wanting to learn how to increase my writing skills!) :-)

But check this out, the great thing is that effective writing can be taught and learned. It’s not necessarily an inborn trait. Its kind of like a science and an art!

Sure, there are some who have more of a natural “gift”  for writing than others, but most great writers weren’t born great… they made themselves great.

    Enter the Legends

How do you make yourself a better “salesman in print”? Well that term was coined somewhere in the late 1800, early 1900′s by the great John E. Kennedy.

And that’s where I suggest you start, with the all-time greats, or master’s from back in the day. John E. Kennedy, one of the greatest admen of all time, considered a good ad “a rational, unadorned means for selling.” He stated that:

-”True “Reason-Why”  copy is logic, plus persuasion, plus conviction, all woven into a certain simplicity of thought-predigested for the average mind, so that it is easier to understand than to misunderstand it.”-

He got a little deep, but that about sums it up in a nutshell. :-)

Books and articles by legends such as Albert Lasker, (of the infamous Lord and Thomas ad agency) Claude Hopkins, (Scientific Advertising), Eugene Schwartz, (Breakthrough Advertising) and John Caples are some great places to start, if you’re a newbie.

Get your foundation from the “all-time greats,” and then couple that with some of the best in the business today, because online writing today is slightly different from writing that was mostly all print, ”back in the day.”

Once you’ve read a couple of books by some of the great teachers from back in the day, then read a couple from some of today’s best, such as, Bob Bly, Gary HalbertJohn Carlton, Gary Bencivenga, Clayton Makepeace and John Reese.

Then formulate your own marketing plan or copywriting style and philosophy based on a combination of both worlds, coupled with your own flavor, (ie character, experiences, personality, terms, and ideaologies.)

One of my favorites is Gary Bencivenga. His Bencivenga Bullets are some of the most powerful, concise newsletters especially on web-writing that I’ve ever read. His insights are priceless, click here for his free bullets.

Once you’ve increased your writing skills, every aspect of your communication with your clients and prospective customers will improve and thus your conversion rates.

And not only will your conversion rates improve with your customers, just by polishing your writing skills, you’ll also naturally hone your verbal and interpersonal communications and thus all of your relationships!

But remember, knowledge is nothing without action!

“Vision without action is a daydream…Action without vision is a nightmare.”                                                           -Japanese Proverb

    Quality Vs. Quantity

Posted June 19, 2009 by ambroseavery

    Tags: , , ,

Everyone involved in Internet Marketing would love to have a huge “list” But, in building your customer list properly, you need to concentrate more on quality than quantity.

You may have a list of 100,000 subscribers, but guess what? If they aren’t responsive to your offers, then you really don’t have a “list” at all, you just have a bunch of names and e-mail addresses!

That sounds just like the “Yellow Pages” if you ask me! If that’s the case, WE ALL HAVE A FREE LIST OF 100,000 PEOPLE, or more! :-)

For example, let’s say Joy has a list of 1000, responsive, eager, waiting to pull out their wallet, customers that trust her judgment and recommendations.

With every e-mail offer that she sends out to her list, Joy may very well pull a response rate, (RR) of 10-20-30-even 50% (or more), depending on the quality of the relationship she has with her list.

The better your relationship; the better your RR; the better your RR, the more money you make per customer! And isn’t that what it’s all about?

I was floored when I found out that there were some top-notch marketers, (such as those above) that are in the upper stratosphere in earnings that consistently get 10, 20% and more, RR all of the time!

And believe me, they can basically, literally write their own paychecks! And they can do it over and over and over and…you get the picture.

    What is RR?

Your response rate is simply the amount of people that respond to your offer, per 100 offers sent. Let’s do a little simple math:

With an RR of 10% with a list of 1000 names, Joy would have 100 responses, or buyers.

However, John has a list of 10,000 names (10 times more people than Joy) but he’s only getting a 1% RR. John’s actually getting the same number of responses (100) although he has a much, much larger list.

Just in case you’re wondering, the industry average RR is right around 1%!

Yup, for every 100 offers that you send out, whether by e-mail, snail mail, (sorry P.O.) cold calling, etc. you can realistically expect a whopping 1 person to respond.

And then,  you still better have a pretty decent product, with a decent offer, at a decent price and at the right time for that buyer. Yeah, I know, those odds aren’t a lot to get excited about.

As a matter of fact, those numbers are part of the reason why about 90% of web businesses and most businesses in general, fail.

That is also one of the reasons why most marketers say, “the money’s in the list”, because technically it is a numbers game.

If you have a huge list and you’re only getting a 1-2% response rate you’ll still make money, but your business isn’t as efficient and thus, not as profitable as it can be.

So, technically, it may be a numbers game, but realistically you can change those odds dramatically simply by:

    • Educating  yourself,
    • Being honest,
    • Having great content,
    • Having integrity,
    • Giving sound advice,
    • Basically, by delivering quality and value.
    • And by actually trying the products that you recommend to your clients, (if you’re an affiliate marketer!)

Notice that I didn’t say, “products that you’re trying to sell to your customers”. You have to change your mindset to more of a “consultant,” (or coach, :-) hint hint,) than a salesman, or marketer.

Even better, think of yourself as someone that provides “tools, education and resources to help solve problems for your friends”.

I remember reading a while back that, “Life is all about the relationships that you form”. Looking back on my life, I realize that the best times I’ve ever had were when I was involved in, happy, positive, productive, fulfilling relationships.

This also holds true in business. Business success is all about the friendships, and strategic partnerships that you build that can take your business to the next level! Can you say, Joint Ventures?

Remember, that the relationship starts with how you think, speak, and feel about your clients. Even though there are marketers that are pulling 20-40% RR and more from their lists consistently, you better believe, they are a rarity, because most folks just concentrate on the numbers.

But, there is no reason why you can’t get those numbers too. Just think quality over quantity!

I guarantee that your response rates will soar!

    List…Shmist!

Why True Wealth is NOT in Your List!

“The money is in the list!”                                                                                                 “You have to build a list!”                                                                                                ”You don’t have a “real” Internet business, if you don’t have a list!”

That’s all the “rage” in Internet marketing circles these days. Of course, what the top “Gurus” are talking about is your customer list, or  “subscriber” database.

The rationale is that the more people you have in your subscriber base, the more money you can make. That makes logical sense, but I say list…shmist, because it’s much deeper than that.

Now, before you start thinking I’ve taken a long walk on a short pier, stay with me here.

I’m not implying that you shouldn’t try to build your list; of course having a large list of 10-20 thousand clients or more, would be a beautiful thing.

Insiders say Internet Marketing legends such as John Reese, Mark Joyner and other top marketers may have several lists and sub-lists that may have reached the million mark!

Wow…could you imagine having a million people on your list?

Well, actually I can! It’s just one of the many reasons why I got into this business!! :-)

(Note) If you haven’t heard of John Reese, he was one of the first Internet Marketers back in the day to make a million dollars in 24 hours, or somewhere near that, with basically just an e-book! Now, I don’t know him personally and I haven’t seen his income statements, so I can’t attest to that under oath, but it is feasible, given his popularity!)

But, what good is having thousands of people on your list, if they aren’t responsive to what you have to offer? If you’ve been struggling in trying to build your subscriber list (and thus your income) maybe you’re putting your energy in…

     The Wrong Place

I just happen to think that the emphasis is in the wrong place. If you’re just trying to make a quick buck, then continue on without trying to build a list properly, but it really makes no sense…

This is because, if you set your systems up properly, your autoresponder and other software can and will do most of the work for you! The only extra work involves you using ”relationship marketing” as it’s sometimes called.

So, if you’re interested in long-term success, or true wealth, you need to concentrate on quality instead of quantity in your email marketing campaigns. By quality, I mean the quality of the relationship with that person on your list

Instead of numbers, think people, instead of customers, think clients, subscribers, or friends. Although the definitions are basically the same, the word client or “friend” subconsciously puts you in more of a “helping” attitude than a “gimme’, gimme,” gotta’ make sales” attitude.

And believe it or not, that attitude swing will start to show in all of your correspondence and eventually,  in your response rate.  So, by building relationships instead of just , “lists”…

I guarantee your response rates will soar!

    Blogging For Purpose

The most efficient way by far to “get your foot in the Internet door,”  so to speak, is through blogging and more specifically, blogging for purpose.

    Why?

    Again, the reasons are tenfold:

    1. Blogging is free.
    2. A blog is easier to set up than a website.
    3. Blogs require no FTP, or complicated code to learn.
    4. Blogs are actually more search engine ”friendly” than a website.
    5. Most successful people keep a journal. Blogging allows you to put ideas together and can help to keep you organized.
    6. You can monetizea blog.
    7. Blogs are a great social networking tool and resource.
    8. You can use a blog to sell products information and services, if done the right way.
    9. Blogging for purpose can be cleansing, fun and almost therapeutic!
    10. You can become an authority with a blog, etc.

The two main, free blogging platforms are www.Blogger.com and www.Wordpress.com There are tutorials all over the Internet on both, so we won’t get into that here. You can decide which to use after taking each for a trial run. I just prefer WordPress

Now, even though blogging is easier to get started than building a website, I’m not going to pull your chain…there is still a lot to learn.  Like how to build your blog to be SEO friendly, using proper keywords, links, hierarchies, tags and categories, the proper way to market, sell and   advertise, etc.

If you’re interested in starting a blog, but don’t have a clue, you could obviously do what I did back in the day and just buy a book or two on blogging… which made sense at the time. But, times have changed.

Sure, you can go “old-school” and buy a book, or two and you’ll probably get a few good ideas that you may be able to implement, but if you’re really serious about learning how to blog, why buy one or two books when you can get a “whole library,” for the price of just one or two books?

I wish they’d had this concept when I was just starting out, I could’ve saved a ton of money. What am I talking about? Membership sites. My partner, Vince Tan and I have compiled what I think is one of the best bargains on the Net when it comes to blogging.

Check out some of the titles at BloggingForPurpose.com:

    • Blogging 101
    • Blogger Adsense Guide
    • The Blog and Ping Tutorial
    • Blogging For Profit
    • Niche Blog Affiliate Profits
    • SEO for WordPress Secrets, videos and too much more to mention…all for the price of one or two e-books!

Check out and join the BloggersProfitCircle quickly, because for a limited time you can get a lifetime membership for the price of a monthly payment. It don’t get no better than that! :-)

    The Power of Resale-Rights

Posted May 29, 2009 by ambroseavery
    Categories: Internet Marketing

    Tags: , , , , ,

The power of Resale-Rights (RR) is a phenomenon that is taking the Net by storm!

The power lies in the fact that you can buy a digital product, with Resale Rights; after you download it to your computers hard drive; you can then use it, learn from it and then turn around and re-sell it!

For instance, let’s just say you want to start a blog, (the best way to get your foot in the Net, I might add, more on that later) so, you purchase an e-book on How-to Market Your Blog, with RR.

After you read it, learn from it, do whatever you like with it, you can then re-sell it to someone else! Seriously!

Resale Rights gives you certain contractual rights over a product.

    Remember Your College Textbooks?

If any of you went to college, you know all too well how much money you spent on your textbooks. And you probably remember how much (or how little) you got back from the college bookstore when you tried to sell them back after the semester was over.

You were lucky to get ten cents on the dollar! :-(   What a rip-off! Well, have no fear, because Resale-Rights are here! And if you think THAT sounds good…believe it or not, it gets even better!

    How?

Because there are actually varying degrees or depths of rights that can be purchased with a product. There are, regular Resale-Rights (RR), Master Resale-Rights (MRR) and Private-Label-Rights or (PLR).

Regular RR allows you the right to resell the product. MRR allows you to resell the product and also sell or transfer the resale-rights, and PLR allows you almost complete and total control over a product, including changing the name of the author, title and editing the contents as if it were written by you! Seriously

I know, can you say “bootlegging”it almost sounds illegal! But, it’s not! It is just another ingenious marketing technique that was spawned by the Net!

But, the most unbelieveable thing of all is that, even after you re-sell it, since it’s a digital product, you’re actually only selling a download or a copy of the product… so, you actually get to keep your copy too! How can it get any better than that?

    It’s a win-win-win situation!

So, if you’ are interested in starting a web-based business, the best advice I can give you is to be sure to purchase all, (or most) of your learning tools and resources with some form of resale-rights, so that you can earn while, or after you learn.

For more information on resale rights products click here

If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask!
